December is a time for celebrations, and Scholars have embraced many traditions this month. From Kwanzaa to Christmas to Hanukkah, the students learned of the many holidays that intersect at this time of year.
The Scholars created Kwanzaa candles that represent the seven principles of African heritage: unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. They learned about Hanukkah and the bravery of the Jewish people in reclaiming their Temple. And of course, no December celebration is complete without decorating some trees! We are grateful for our volunteers like Ms. Janet and Ms. Buff, who lead a seasonal art project that “spruced” up the TCP walls just in time for Christmas.
The Scholars annual Christmas party will take place on Tuesday, 12/20, with treats and songs, and a Holiday escape room! It’s been a great year with our students as we prepare for even more fun in 2023.
