The scholars will be learning many new things in April! We have started the month off learning about Jazz. We began with learning the history of jazz as well as the vocals and instruments. The scholars learned about scatting, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louis Armstrong! April is national poetry month and financial literacy month. We will be doing our poetry Slam to celebrate. Also, we will be completing financial lIteracy presentation to show what we know.
During Spring break, we will be visiting John Heinz Wildlife refuge. The scholars will be hiking the boardwalk loop and learning about crayfish adaptations. For Social Emotional Learning we will be starting our SEL portfolios for the school year to showcase our learning!
Our scholars love our specialists Chef Jason and Ms. Adrianne! The scholars are learning great culinary skills while making foods for themselves and their peers. This month the scholars have made Pizza, Chicken Sliders, and French toast. They have also been learning teamwork and how to work together with Miss Adrianne’s fitness activities!
