Turning Points for Children provides a variety of family support services aimed at preventing child abuse and neglect and protecting children who have been referred to the child welfare system. Protective services include foster care, adoption and reunification services.
Turning Points for Children staff at The Common Place provide a variety of community engagement activities and services for families served by Community Umbrella Agency #9, which is the lead agency identified by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services to provide in-home services, foster care and adoption/reunification services in West and Southwest Philadelphia. These activities include Parent Cafes and other parenting education programs, life skills support for adolescents, linkage to health services for children in foster care, foster parent recruitment, and services aimed at reunifying children in foster care with their families.
