TCP is thankful to Wayne Presbyterian Church and the V. Shayne Frederick Trio for hosting a wonderful fundraiser for The Common Place Orchestra (TCPO) on Sunday, October 16th. Since 2018, TCPO has provided space for the children of Southwest Philadelphia to learn violin, viola, and cello from professional musicians. Music education broadens students’ horizons and impacts their proficiency in the classroom as well.
Artists V. Shayne Frederick (piano), Justin Sekelewski (bass), and Connor Saltzer (drums) entertained the crowd and provided stories of the way that music had transformed their own lives. Mr. Frederick noted that having a place like TCP to learn and grow as a young musician would have been helpful in his development.
