It’s not often that churches find not one, not two, but THREE ways to partner with The Common Place! The people of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church (BMPC) have done just that.
Recognizing the unique work that TCP does within the Philadelphia Presbytery, Bryn Mawr’s Outreach Council has selected us as a Faith Partner, with grant dollars being used for general operating support. This $10,000 award significantly impacts TCP’s ability to continue our work for the children and families who rely on our services.
In addition to financial support, BMPC hosted an Alternative Gift Market for Advent, allowing members to choose projects that they would like to support. Over $4,000 was raised to help send kids to summer camp as well as to support mental health care for adults. More than half of our 75+ kids rely on scholarships for camp, and we are grateful to our partners who make it happen!
BMPC’s Nursery School has begun a new program that offers kids a chance to collect everything from books for the preschool to toiletries to arts and craft supplies. Through this partnership, TCP has been able to restock our closets, and the kids of the Nursery School have learned some invaluable lessons about caring, community, and generosity.
How will your church partner with TCP? Thanks to Bryn Mawr for keeping Southwest in your hearts and minds as we expand our ministries here at the corner of 58th and Chester.
