Reverend Sharell Shippen is the Youth and Young Adults Pastor of Salt and Light, an interdenominational, intergenerational congregation worshiping and working in Southwest Philadelphia and Mt. Airy. Rev. Shippen has served and grown through a range of ministry opportunities, including Associate Pastor of Grace Christian Fellowship and most recently as the Interim pastor of a UCC congregation in Wayne, PA.
Her passion for ministry is also lived out in her work as Director of Spirituality for HumanGood. As Director of Spirituality, Sharell collaborates with Spiritual Care Directors(chaplains) to provide residents opportunities to express their faith traditions, explore new paths to spirituality, and offer service to their local and greater community settings.
Reverend Shippen completed her undergraduate studies at The Pennsylvania State University, Abington Campus. In May of 2016 she received a Master of Social Work from West Chester University and in May of 2017 received her Master of Divinity from Palmer Theological Seminary. Her ministry and life are guided by Jeremiah 29:11.
