Gene, a long-time resident of Southwest Philadelphia, joined our team as our Office Manager in February 2017 bringing with him over 10 years of operational management and administrative experience. Since joining the TCP family, he has worked hard to identify and implement systems that helped to streamline administrative operations and communications. He has and continues to work to develop and foster relationships with community partners. His work ethic, knowledge, ideas, welcoming smile, and heart for growth have aided his transition to Director of Outreach and Fundraising Administration as of July 2018 and Director of Operations in 2021. In addition to Gene’s day-to-day responsibilities at TCP, he serves as the Elder of Worship and Minister of Music at Salt & Light (PCUSA/UCC) church in which Gene plays an integral role in developing the worship services. Gene is currently enrolled in Eastern University’s Operational Leadership (BA) program.
Gene is married to Fatima Burke, a UX, UI Designer, and Web Developer who has the distinction of being one of the very few yet sought-after African-American women in the technology industry. Gene and Fatima are the proud parents of 4 brilliant sons: David, Micaiah, Aaron, and Judah.
